I was born and raised on the West Coast and currently reside in Two Rocks where I work as a silversmith from my studio. Passionate about ‘making by hand’ and lifelong learning I embrace the creative challenges that silversmithing projects and commissions bring. The alchemy of working in metal and the creative processes involved in making by hand are particularly important to me. I believe hand wrought items to be links connecting the maker and wearer imbued with the energy during the processes and techniques of shaping and surface treatment in my metal forms. These tactile qualities add meaning into the forms along with the occasions they are used. Re-using metal scrap, raising vessels from flat sheet, I can manipulate the molecules to assume new forms which are inspired by traditional indigenous artefacts and the patterns and textures from my environment.
