This artwork is about a moment in time captured of the remarkable cycle of life within nature that day to day we do not pause to watch or consider, something so small developing on the trees surrounding us, magnified in my painting to draw your attention to the insignificant being significant.

It was wonderful that ‘A Captured Moment’ won the overall prize at Kalamunda Lion Club Art Awards 2023, held at the Zig Zag Gallery. I have also won the People’s choice award at the City of Gosnells Art Awards and Exhibition. I am originally from the UK and although I miss the countryside there, I really enjoy all the natural beauty Australia has to offer. I probably would be considered a realism artist but to be honest I just delve deep into really looking at what I am painting and it develops in it’s own way, however animals, birds and botanicals are my favourite subjects to paint. My medium of choice is Acrylic paint as I don’t have to wait for drying times, so that I can work on the next layer of the painting.
